Note on quantities. Coverage depends on the texture of the prepared surface — an exposed-aggregate substrate consumes considerably more than a ground one. Confirm against the current a.b.e. data sheet before ordering.
Before you specify it
- Existing concrete must be clean and mechanically sound, free of dust, laitance and cracked or loose stone.
- Maximum bond strength is only achieved when the main aggregate of the existing concrete is exposed — by scabbling, grinding, abrasive blasting or chipping.
- Exposed reinforcing should be undercut and hammered back into position if the engineer directs, and badly rusted steel cleaned by abrasive blasting.
- The substrate should ideally be dry. epidermix® 344 bonds to green concrete but will not penetrate free water on the surface.
- Between 10 °C and 15 °C, pre-condition the unopened cans to approximately 20 °C before mixing.
- The full system must follow the current a.b.e. technical specification.
