Note on quantities. Quantities come from the wetted surface area at 6 mm, plus steps, ledges and any surround included in the scope. Pool geometry and the condition of the scratch coat both affect the figure — confirm against the current Cemcrete datasheet and the Pool Quartz Start-Up Guide.
Before you specify it
- Suitable substrates are gunite, hand-packed concrete or scratch-coat cement plaster cured for 28 days.
- The substrate must not contain blast furnace slag.
- Mix outside the pool — mixing inside risks discolouration, separation or debonding as mix water saturates the substrate.
- Use a 6 mm gauge to verify thickness as work proceeds.
- The finish is acid-washed after application — allow for this in the programme.
- Pool plastering is a specialist application. Inconsistent trowelling shows once the pool is filled.
